A brief history

In 1978 James Dyson stumbles across the idea of a bagless cleaner while renovating his country house. While spending the next few years developing this new cleaner he builds over 5 thousand prototypes. In 1981 he files a patent application in the USA. Then in 1983 he produces his first prototype called the G-Force. The G-Force is released in Japan in 1986 and sells well. In 1995 the DC01, the first of many Dyson vacuum cleaners, becomes the best selling vacuum cleaner in the UK. It's follow up, the dc02 is released in 1995 to become the second best seller. The dc02 is updated into the Absolute and has both HEPA filtration and a bacteria killing screen. In 2001 they are now the most powerful upright vacuum cleaners on the market. For 2005 it's the DC15, The Ball which replaces conventional wheels with a ball. And now we have cylinders, uprights and handheld vacuum cleaners for every job in and around the home.
