Dyson cylinder vacuum cleaners, the first Dyson cylinder was made in 1995 and was the worlds first bagless cylinder vacuum cleaner. It incorporated the same Dual Cyclone technology as the DC01. In 1997 the DC02 Recyclone became the first vacumm cleaner to use recycled materials saving an estamated 30 tonnes of landfill a year. In 1998 the second Dyson cylinder vacuum cleaner was released, the dc05. In 1999 Dyson engineers work on the robotic dc06 cylinder cleaner, although it worked it was never released as they beliveved that its cleaning was not up to the standard of other Dyson cleaners. In 2002 the DC08 became the first cylinder cleaner to use Root Cyclone technology which subjects dirt and dust to G-forces up to 150,000 times that of gravity. In 2004 the telescopic wand on DC08T extends and locks in one smooth motion and compresses using a single button. In 2003 the new dc11 dyson cylinder vacuum uses a four-stage telescopic wand and a hose that wraps around the machine for easy storage. It was also the first time the hygienic bin emptying was used on a Dyson cylinder vacuum cleaner. For 2004 Dyson make the dc12 cylinder vacuum, a machine engineered specifically for Japan. In 2007 its the DC19 dyson cylinder cleaner, its clear bin is made of polycarbonate. In 2007 the dc20 cylinder has a hose made from an elastomer to counteract the stress placed on the hose when it is wrapped around a cylinder cleaner like the dc20. New for 2007 is the DC21 which has an independently motorised brush bar that spins at 90 times a second for thorough cleaning, welcome to the Motorhead. 2008 saw the dc22, a third smaller than a full sized Dyson cylinder, the DC22 is designed to store tidily away and has improved cyclone technology. Also new for 2008 is the DC23 cylinder vacuum, it has three stages of cyclonic separation, this subjects the dust to increasingly high centrifugal forces, the inner cyclone generating 150 000G.

A new Dyson cylinder is released, the dc26. It's a new smaller design that offers similar performance to the other cylinder cleaners in the range and is suitable for all floor types.

Along with the new compact dc26 cylinder cleaner is another new cylinder, the dc32 Animal. With it's powerful all-round ability that includes allergen filtration and pet hair removal, it collects more microscopic dust than any other cyclone.
